Hello!
My name is Laura Westdale and I am the founder of Rooted Doula Services. I have the honor of being a Doula and Parent Educator supporting families in West Michigan, and rooted in the Grand Rapids area. I am passionate about supporting families in their sacred journey of pregnancy, labor & birth and into the 4th trimester (postpartum). I have two babies of my own and both of their births were different and beautiful in their own ways. I was blessed to have the same incredible doula for both of my births. Having a water birth in the comfort of my own home with my daughter, Hazel, inspired me to become a doula! It was a transformative and empowering experience. I want to support families so they know they are not alone. When it comes to preparing for labor and birth, education is empowerment; knowledge builds confidence which results in positive birth outcomes, and having support during the postpartum journey is an absolute gift. As a doula, this is the support I aim to provide.
I am passionate about empowering women to make informed choices about their bodies and their births. I believe that birth is a natural and transformative process, and I am honored to be a part of your journey and to help prepare you for one of the most incredible experiences of life!
+Birth Doula Services $1000
Prenatal:
Includes two in-person prenatal visits to connect, talk about birth wishes, discuss evidence -based birth strategies, learn about comfort measures and prepare for the journey ahead.
During Labor/Birth:
Emotional support and encouragement, comfort measure and labor position guidance, movement, massage support, music, essential oils- whatever your needs are, we are there to support you and your partner/family.
Postpartum: Includes one visit after baby is here for breastfeeding support, processing the birth, reflecting on your experience and celebrating!
+Postpartum Doula Services:
Hourly Rate $35 per hour -
-Suggested Visit Length 3 hours
(availability during the hours of 9AM and 5PM on previously scheduled weekdays)
+Birth Photography

+Doula Collaboration Package: $1500
Includes two doulas working together to support you during your pregnancy, labor, birth and postpartum journey.
